Starting a new hobby is a pretty big deal, especially if you’re in your 30s. Your life is busy as hell with career, business, or relationships, and you can’t imagine adding any new activity to your schedule.

Or, perhaps, occasionally, you think about starting doing something outside of your routine, something new that will fill your life with excitement, but then you say to yourself, “Nah, I’m too old for this.” And you pass by the thrift shop with a great guitar on display that looks exactly like you imagined your guitar would look like. Or you cancel the dance class your friend invited you to at the last moment, just because you’re afraid that you’ll look clumsy (you may, but who cares!).

Whatever the reason you constantly come up with not to start a new hobby, it’s time to discard it like trash and go for something you’ve been dreaming of doing for years.

The truth is, life is short. So limiting yourself based on fear or some unconvincing argument (“I am too old/busy/lazy”) is doing nothing but harm. Yes, starting something new takes some time, energy, and patience. But sometimes, we all need a change or some inspiration to do more in life. Otherwise, why do you even do all these complicated things if you can’t even find time for something that you’ve always wanted to do?
